Seeing a Naturopathic Medical Doctor is often a new experience. Allow me to share with you what makes this field of medicine unique.
Naturopathic Medical Doctors support and promote the body’s natural healing process, leading to a person’s highest state of wellness and vastly improved quality of life using the healing power of nature. Our focus is to build health and wellness, not simply to treat symptoms or a disease. We strengthen the body’s vital force and stimulate true healing of the body, by determining and treating the cause of your symptoms. By addressing the causes of disease and individualizing treatment that integrates the healing powers of the body, mind and spirit, health can be restored, optimized, and maintained.
Naturopathic Medical Doctors (N.D. or N.M.D) are trained as primary care physicians and receive a doctorate degree at a 4-year accredited Naturopathic Medical College, which is very much equivalent to other conventional medical schools. However, in addition to basic sciences, diagnostics and extensive pharmaceutical training, Naturopathic training also includes clinical nutrition, homeopathy, botanical and herbal medicine, hydrotherapy, physical medicine (manipulation, physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise), acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, mind-body medicine (psychotherapy, counseling), minor surgery, as well as natural childbirth.
Naturopathic Medical Doctors are therefore unique in that they use natural medicine first, to improve your health. Since Naturopathic Physicians have extensive training in pharmacology, diagnostics and allopathic medicine, we have more treatment options to offer our patients. We focus on all aspects of their life that may contribute to their health issues. As your doctor, I am dedicated and committed to you and your success in achieving a better life through healthy living.
Again, WELCOME and I look forward to meeting you!
